MEN’S 50 BACK – FINAL

Two men broke the 25-second barrier in the 50m backstroke final, with 30-year-old Olympic medalist Xu Jiayu leading the field.

Xu's time of 24.40 was just off his new national record of 24.36 from the semi-finals.

Wang Zicheng finished second in 24.80, while Jiang Chenglin earned bronze with a time of 25.01.

WOMEN’S 50 BREAST – FINAL

GOLD – Tang Qianting, 30.00
SILVER – Yang Chang, 30.11
BRONZE – Siobhan Haughey (HKG), 30.71

Tang Qianting, the top seed, claimed gold in the women's 50m breast, finishing in 30.00.

Yang Chang improved her previous time of 30.56 to 30.11, securing the silver medal.

Siobhan Haughey from Hong Kong took bronze, with the 50m free yet to come.

Tang Qianting redeemed herself after being upset in the 200m breaststroke, where 15-year-old Lyu Qinyao took gold.

Both Tang and Haughey reached the 2023 Asian Games podium in the 50m sprint, with Tang's gold in 29.96 and Haughey's bronze in 30.36, setting a new Hong Kong national record.

Wu Qingfeng, aged 22, dominated the women's 50m freestyle with a time of 24.21, becoming China's third-best performer of all time.

Her time was just off her lifetime best of 24.18 from May and the 24.26 that earned her silver at the World Championships.

Cheng Yujie finished in 24.23, slicing 0.05 off her previous PB of 24.28.

Siobhan Haughey and Lu Yue tied for bronze, with Haughey having just returned from the 50m free.

Zhang Yufei and Wu Yunhan, aged 13, also tied for 5th place in 24.93.
