FTM here and tbh the baby led weaning thing scares me i want to just mash everything up into purees because im scared of baby choking! So far I’ve given him banana, avocado, and pear but I’ve made all of them into purées. I obviously need to eventually get over this fear so what are some foods you all suggest are okay to give baby to led wean? I wanted to try to give baby a carrot and cut it into a hand size piece to give to baby to chew on but even that for example do I need to boil the carrot piece or can I give it to him raw (obviously washed)? Pls help lol pictures of foods and how you all are piecing the foods would also be super helpful

You would be suprised at how well they do, once you see baby gag and figure out how to spit it out they do so good!! I’ll post some pictures of my guy he’s tried all kinds of stuff and is doing wonderful! It should be able to be squished in between your fingers ( the carrot ) or apples , if it can be squished baby can have it otherwise cut into strips! Baby learns how much to bite off

Pancakes with banana and peanut butter and a strawberry if the strawberry is bigger then their fist it can be given whole. An app called solid starts is really nice to show you how it should be served

@Sheeelbeee,
he bites the perfect size pieces off and he spits out he ones that are to big, gagging is normal, when baby does it at first it is concerning to watch but watch them a second and see how they figure it out, just always remember gagging is normal and not choking

He also loves the club crackers, they dissolve quickly. He stole a puffy cheese it from older brother today and did great!
He loves the baby yogurt with smashed blueberries.

There is a baby led weaning group that’s super helpful on Facebook if you think it would help you!
Baby is also doing great with a straw for water and an open cup!

@laurenlau,
we started with a cup with a straw you squeeze it a little and it makes water come out and he automatically started sucking cause of the bottle but squeezing it a little helped!
