BIM 360 products being rebranded and relaunched as BIM Collaborate
On November 17, 2020, Autodesk announced a new set of product offerings built on the Autodesk Construction Cloud (Autodesk Construction Cloud) platform.
BIM 360 Design has been rebranded "Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro" to reflect the inclusion of the Model Coordination and Insight* modules, Glue, and access to the new Autodesk Construction Cloud platform.

Hello Wendy,
What should I be doing to future proof my projects? It seems that some functionality is duplicated in BIM360 and ACC. How should I configure my projects in order to use the newest tools?

The differences between BIM Collaborate and BIM Collaborate Pro can be found under "What is included in each offering?" in the FAQ.

Hi Chris,
I'm not asking about the difference between Collaborate and Collaborate Pro. I've already seen the feature difference and understand them.
I'm asking about the services that seem to have two versions: one in BIM360 and one in Autodesk Construction Cloud.
For Example:
- What's the difference between BIM360 Glue vs. ACS Unified Model Coordination?
- Are all of the ACS Unified systems automatically used or is the system using legacy BIM360 systems and we need to opt in to the ACS services?

Hi Chris,
Can I get further clarification? I have a customer with an existing BIM360 tenant site, with 10 Design Collaboration License. With rebranding to BIM Collaborate Pro it appears that my customer should now have access to Design Collaboration, Document Management and now BIM Coordinate (Model Coordination) in BIM360. Please keep in mind all projects will stay in the BIM 360 environment.
Should my customer automatically have access to the model coordination module now? Will it be necessary to enable the service when a project is created and then assign access to each team member as necessary?
or
Will the customer have access to Model Coordination only when the project resides in the ACC environment.
Finally, what if a customer of mine just bought BIM Coordinate in Nov 2020 and also has a seat of BIM 360 Design Collaboration? Will Autodesk credit the customer now that BIM Coordinate (Model Coordination) is included his Design Collaboration license >> BIM Collaborate Pro license?

Where areAutodesk Construction Cloud ideas submitted?
The existing Ideas forum doesn't have appropriate mandatory Categories for ACC submissions.

Got this tested.
Looks like the Collaborate Pro is not a service automatically added to each project in BIM360 Next Gen. Users must go into each Next Gen project and activate the service and then as normally provide access to users.

"Should my customer automatically have access to the model coordination module now? Will it be necessary to enable the service when a project is created and then assign access to each team member as necessary?"
Yes, Model Coordination should be able to be enabled in all projects new and existing in BIM 360 and ACC. And yes, access is provided in the same way as all the other modules.
"Finally, what if a customer of mine just bought BIM Coordinate in Nov 2020 and also has a seat of BIM 360 Design Collaboration? Will Autodesk credit the customer now that BIM Coordinate (Model Coordination) is included his Design Collaboration license >> BIM Collaborate Pro license?"
There are no plans for this at this time.

Thank you Wendy, this is exactly what I needed to understand what is going on.
It would be great to have an official written communication or article explaining the transition to Autodesk Construction Cloud so it's easier for sharing with my team.
Let me know if there's anything like this already available.
Thanks for the help!

Why you didn't mention that you re-branded Plans into Sheets and removed them from Document Management (Now Docs), so now to have the same functionality we have in BIM 360 you force us to buy Build?

Which is easier to say: "BIM 360," or "BIM Collaborate Pro?" Also, does the word "collaborate" accurately describe the full scope of these services? Isn't collaboration inherent in any workflow on the platform? If the Autodesk Construction Cloud is bringing together services from design through operation for the entire life cycle of building project, doesn't that have a circular theme to it? All-around, 360 degrees of a project? Food for thought.

Hoping this new name (BIM Collaborate/Pro & Autodesk Construction Cloud) sticks and frozen for at least 10 years, so that customers won't be confused. Just a thought.

How's the new Idea's board coming along? It's been nearly 8 months.
I have a lot of ideas to add. Mainly around bringing parity between BIM 360 Docs and ACC Docs. At the moment, BIM 360 Docs is far superior.

As an AI language model, I have access to a vast amount of information on various topics. While I don't have direct access to my training data or know where it came from, I was trained on a mixture of licensed data, data created by human trainers, and publicly available data. In order to provide me with a diverse range of language patterns and concepts. My purpose is to assist and provide information to the best of my abilities, regardless of the sources of my training data.
Now, let's discuss the concepts mentioned in the article you provided:
BIM 360
BIM 360 is a suite of construction management software products developed by Autodesk. It is designed to improve collaboration and efficiency in the construction industry. The BIM 360 suite includes various tools and modules for different aspects of the construction process, such as design coordination, document management, field management, and project management.
Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
Autodesk Construction Cloud is a platform developed by Autodesk that serves as the foundation for various construction-related software products, including the BIM 360 suite. It provides a centralized environment for collaboration, data management, and project insights. The rebranding of BIM 360 products as BIM Collaborate is part of Autodesk's effort to consolidate its construction software offerings under the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform.
BIM Collaborate Pro
BIM Collaborate Pro is the rebranded version of BIM 360 Design. It is a collaborative design and coordination tool that allows design and construction teams to work together on projects. BIM Collaborate Pro includes features such as model coordination, insight modules, and access to the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform. It enables teams to co-author Revit, Civil 3D, and Plant 3D data from anywhere and at any time.
Model Coordination
Model Coordination is a feature included in BIM Collaborate Pro. It allows teams to coordinate and manage design models from different disciplines in a centralized environment. With Model Coordination, teams can identify clashes and resolve coordination issues early in the design process, improving collaboration and reducing rework during construction.
Glue
Glue is another component of BIM Collaborate Pro. It is a cloud-based collaboration and coordination tool that allows teams to review and analyze 3D models, 2D drawings, and other project data. Glue enables teams to visualize and navigate through models, add comments and markups, and track issues and changes.
Autodesk Docs
Autodesk Docs is a centralized document management solution that is part of the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform. It provides a secure and accessible repository for project documents, drawings, and other files. With Autodesk Docs, teams can manage document versions, control access permissions, and collaborate on documents in real-time.
These are the main concepts mentioned in the article regarding the rebranding of BIM 360 products as BIM Collaborate and the inclusion of new modules and features under the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform. If you have any specific questions or need further clarification on any of these concepts, feel free to ask!
