Emergency responders are currently on their way to a vehicle accident occurring on the Malahat Highway, specifically near Bamberton Road, which is affecting traffic flow in both directions.
On Saturday afternoon, shortly after 1:30 p.m., Malahat Fire Rescue informed CHEK that they were actively responding to the incident on the highway.
By 1:47 p.m., DriveBC updated the situation, stating, "There are reports of a vehicle incident just south of Bamberton Rd affecting traffic in both directions. Emergency crews are en route to assist."

Just before 2 p.m., BC Emergency Health Services provided an update to CHEK, stating, "Our teams are responding with five ambulances and a helicopter, along with a supervisor. This situation involves a motor vehicle incident, and patients are currently being assessed for injuries."
Eyewitnesses in the vicinity reported that traffic was completely halted due to a vehicle that was on fire.
CHEK has reached out to the RCMP for further information.
