Well my friends, baby #4 is a BOY!!!

Girl or boy, we were all excited to be adding another little one to our family. We were getting a lot of predictions that this little one would be a girl. Since we already had three boys. I guess my husband started to believe them because he was surprised when we discovered we were having a boy!

I do admit, I was secretly hoping for another little boy. Raising boys is what I do. Nurturing little girls is a completely foreign concept! I eventually would love to be blessed with a girl. But I’m quite happy to add another chubby little man into the family!

Cute Gender Reveal Ideas

Learning whether your little one is a boy or girl is a very special moment in your pregnancy! It’s fun to get a little creative in the way you share the big news with friends and family. From cakes with secret colored fillings to huge balloons overflowing with pink or blue confetti, there are lots of clever ways to divulge the gender!

Here are some simple yet cute gender reveal ideas that we have used to share the gender of our new little ones.

Big Brothers declare the News

As parents, we are of course excited, but let’s not forget the new little one’s siblings! They are also thrilled with the news and can’t wait to tell everyone! Get them involved in the gender announcement by capturing the moment in a photo.

This is especially a great option for those of us that would prefer to be on the other side of the camera. Besides my kids are much more photogenic and a lot cuter to look at. 🙂

Some type of prop is a must to tell the story. You could have a chalkboard relating the message with the added touch of blue or pink balloons or have them blowing a handful of blue or pink glitter towards the camera.

Sweet treats are always a popular option in our house so we went with that, along with a fun balloon spelling out the news. It was especially great that their mouths were stained blue!

Social Media Gender Guesses

Sure it’s a 50/50 percent chance, but I think it’s always amusing to see what friends and family guess the baby’s gender is.

I made these signs while pregnant with our third as a fun way to tally up what everyone speculates and decided it would be fun to do it again. You can download the gender guess signs for free in this post. One says “LIKE if you think it’s a BOY” and the other says “LOVE if you think it’s a GIRL”.

You could always just write the same text in a post and forgo posting an image. But I have found that more people will react to a photo than a written text post. So I prefer to share the picture. And this time around the votes were heavy on the “LOVE”s!

It definitely helps to have an ultrasound pic and your pregnant belly in the photo! Just in case someone missed the news that you are having a baby!

I like to follow up a few days later with another photo divulging the gender. You don’t want to keep people in suspense too long. 😉

Gender Reveal with Baby Shoes

Cute Gender Reveal Ideas involving the whole family (5)

My family’s feet with an extra pair of little shoes has been our standard announcement picture with each new baby. We add this photo to the back of our Christmas cards for a fun way to announce our upcoming arrival.

This year we didn’t know the gender of our baby quite yet so kept the photo neutral. But you can easily use this type of photo to reveal whether you are having a boy or girl. Simply display a pair of blue or pink tiny shoes. I LOVE these ones!

It does get more and more difficult to take this photo with each additional child (especially toddlers). Just wanted to give you fair warning! You could also just grab a pair of shoes from each family member and line them up for a pic. Everyone doesn’t necessarily need to be present in the photo to get your point across.

Sweet Treats do the Telling

Okay, can I just say that I am super ecstatic that the above image actually turned out just how I had envisioned it in my head! This one picture was the sole reason we had a mini photo session to begin with. All the other pics we took were just cherries on the top!

Originally, I had planned on having us in blue or pink baseball tee shirtsCute Gender Reveal Ideas involving the whole family (7) depending on the gender. But you know me and my last minute ideas… the night before we went for the ultrasound, I thought it would be a better idea to keep our clothes neutral and have our sweet props do all the telling! So needless to say I could have bought them well in advance.

Thank goodness for fast shipping so we could get our shirts! Which just FYI, if you are in need of a cute and comfortable maternity shirtCute Gender Reveal Ideas involving the whole family (8), I definitely recommend this one! I have two and love them both!

We kept the news a secret from our boys until we were ready to take the pictures several days later. Which was EXTREMELY hard, because we were so anxious to tell them!

When we were finally ready to take pictures, we told our boys we wanted to take a fun photo showing friends and family if we were having a boy or girl. One declared, “it’s a boy!” while the other simultaneously said “it’s a girl!”

We then pulled out the blue suckersCute Gender Reveal Ideas involving the whole family (9) and asked them if they knew what that meant. Our oldest did. 🙂 And excitedly declared “the baby is a boy!”

The suckers were two fold, to reveal the gender of the baby and to keep my kids, namely my toddler, occupied for a long enough extent of time to capture a good picture! As you can see the kid went to town on his sucker! I only wish I had started chewing the bubble gum a little while before giving them their lollipops. Getting gum ready to blow into bubbles is not a quick task!
