H&M is offering third parties access to its supply chain and logistics network as part of its sustainability push.

Called Treadler, the B2B initiative will provide a range of services including product development, sourcing, production and logistics. It aims to allow companies with smaller scale to operate in a more sustainable way.

Treadler will begin at a small scale, providing a tailored service for each client. H&M did not specify whom the primary target customer of Treadle is.

Gustaf Asp, MD of Treadler, said: “We see the opportunity to utilise the full potential of H&M Group’s extensive investments and progressive sustainability work by catering to clients’ needs and contributing to driving long-term growth for H&M Group, while driving change in our industry.

“In discussions with other companies, we have experienced a demand for these kinds ofservices.”

H&Mhas pledged to reduce more greenhouse gases than it emits by 2030 through a mixture of efficiency and renewable energy. p includes a commitment to making the first two tiers of its supply chain climate neutral by 2030.

Ahead of this, it aims to make the first two tiers of its supply chain climate-neutral as well as use 100% recycled or sustainable materials by 2030.
