DofE Expedition Programme Costs

The cost of expedition programmes depends on many variables, and usually ranges between £45 and £60 per participant per day. We are always keen to work on the quote with you to enable us to bring the price down and give the best price possible.

Doing your Award helps to turn the things you love, and the things you've always wanted to try, into powerful lifelong skills that can help you get a job, change your community, and take on anything life throws your way.

There may be additional costs for activities and Licensed Organisations that run the DofE, such as schools, may add a small fee to cover administration costs etc. If a school, club or other operator charges you more than this, it is because they include additional costs to them, such as transport or expedition etc.

You must do a minimum of three months activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections, and plan, train for and do a two-day, one-night Expedition. You also have to spend an extra three months on one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award programmes take between one and four years to complete, and they must be completed by the participant's 25th-birthday. There are around 300,000 new participants annually, with an estimated 461,000 current participants in the UK.

Participants need to be 14 for bronze level, 15 for silver and 16 – 24yrs for the gold level. It is a rigorous, challenging award and hard work, with strong commitment required to complete all levels. Then DofE Direct is for you. DofE Direct is a unique way to achieve a Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award independently, without the need to attend weekly sessions at a local DofE centre. You'll be able to progress through your DofE activities in your own time by managing your DofE journey yourself through eDofE online.
