How to See Someone’s Connections on LinkedIn (2024)

This feature allows you to see if there is anyone in their network that is a good prospect, or anyone you would like an introduction to. Follow along below to see the breakdown of this week’s video walkthrough!
You will then be able to access their list of connections, to narrow it down you can click “All Filters”.
You can narrow it down based on degree of connection, location, current or past company, industry, school, etc.
Once you have applied the appropriate filters, click “show results”
You now have a more specific list within the connections. Looking into someone’s network is a setting that the person has to turn on.
You will see that when I search Sarah’s name and click on her profile that I will not be able to access her connections.
The connections button is not clickable. This indicates that the person has their network closed. You will only be able to look into open networks. You can open your network to just your connections, or leave it closed to only you.
We recommend keeping your network closed so competitors cannot mine your connections. However, they can be a very useful tool for making introductions or referrals. You can ask your connection to open their network for a bit so you can take a look.

Navigate to the profile of the connection whose connections you want to view.Tap [Number] connections below their profile picture. You can view the connections listed under the People tab.
Click on the profile page of the person whose network you want to explore. Click on the '500+ connections' hyperlink or the specific number of connections if displayed. Use the 'All Filters' button to apply filters such as location or industry to narrow down the list of connections.
3rd-degree connections - People who are connected to your 2nd-degree connections. You'll see a 3rd degree icon next to their name in search results and on their profile.
To view a connection's connections: Navigate to the profile of the connection whose connections you want to view.Tap [Number] connections below their profile picture.You can view the connections listed under the People tab.
Tap the Search bar at the top of your screen. Enter your keyword into the Search bar. Select the member from the suggestions that appear in the dropdown, or tap Search to run the search. From any search results page, tap the People tab at the top to only see people results for your search.
When you join LinkedIn and you're building up your network, whenever you get a new 'connection', the number of your connections is displayed on your profile. Until, that is, you reach the magic number of 500 connections.
Once you get above 3,000 people in your network, you're likely feeling pretty confident on LinkedIn and how to use the platform to reach the people who matter to your career or business.
Is 100 connections on LinkedIn good? If what you're looking for on LinkedIn is a way to network closely with a group of people you know, then a modest number like 100 might be ideal. But when you're in job search you may have additional goals.
Click the My Network icon at the top of the LinkedIn homepage to view your pending invitations. After accepting a pending invitation, the Connections You May Know feature will surface some of that member's connections as suggested people for you to connect with.
Be a person, be human, say hello. Tell them that you also know (name of your connection), maybe ask them if they know them or have they just connected on LinkedIn. Not everyone will reply but the more options you give them and the more 'personable' you are, the higher your chances!
Start with a search on LinkedIn Recruiter and then leverage Recommended Matches to explore further. Recommended Matches uncovers new candidates that are less likely to show up in a search, powered by your real-time hiring signals, such as Save, Hide, or Message candidates.
To search for an ideal candidate in Recruiter, enter "Find me someone like [ideal candidate's name]" into the global search bar. To search for an ideal candidate in Recruiter Lite: Click the global search bar and select Search by ideal candidate from the dropdown.
Yes, in most cases, LinkedIn will notify the user when you view their profile. In fact, the user can even tell how you found their profile on LinkedIn. If you don't want people to know you are visiting their profile, you must use the private mode.
