Introducing to user mode, privileged mode, and global configuration mode

- So we're going to go ahead and gain access to the command line interface on the router. We're going to do this by clicking on the West router and that's going to bring up the command line interface on the router one tab for a command line. We're going to go ahead and configure the router from this interface. And I'm going to start by pointing out the different types of modes that the router has available to access the router. The router has three command-line modes. There's a User EXEC mode, the Privileged EXEC mode, and the Global Configuration mode. I'm going to show you each one of these modes as well as how to access them and what is available. First, the User EXEC mode, sometimes referred to simply as User mode. It is the first mode that a user will have access to when logging in to the Cisco router. You can tell that you are in this mode because of the greater than symbol, or the arrow that is to the right of the router name. This particular mode only supports basic commands…
