Hi student,
There is no direct connection between your certifications and employment. All employer looks for skills and knowledge in candidates. For sure, certifications can enhance your chance of selection, but solely they can not lend you to a job.
Now, let us come to your question. Yes, there are many courses provided by Coursera that will add weight to your resume. There are many certifications as well that provide students with placement opportunities and mentorship. So it is advisable to check the course before enrolling.

While we cannot vouch for 3rd party websites, this answer is being written on personal experience. Coursera is a recognised website and has good courses. The courses are valid across the Globe. The paid certificates do definitely carry a weightage. And when you have a certification in any subject or course, it gives added value to your CV. So just to answer your question, Coursera Certifications do have weightage when applying for jobs that match these skills that you have learnt.

Hi Onkar,
First thing you need to understand is employers don't give you job based on number of certificates you have, it is based on the skills and knowledge that you possess. Of course, Coursera certification is very valuable if you do that course for gaining knowledge but if you are doing it for the sake of certificate to add that in your resume. It won't help you.
I hope it helps you.
