If you're an OG fan you already know.

If you thought you'd left your days of pleated skirts, rolled down socks and girl-boy-girl-boy seating behind, you were very wrong because after my recent discovery I have decided that we all need to go back to school.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I thought we all had the basics down. Pollination, photosynthesis, osmosis and good old trigonometry (because knowing the length and angle of a triangle has really helped me so far in my adult life), but when it comes to fashion some of you wouldn't even scrape a U.

In terms of online shopping, ASOS is our world. That next day delivery has saved us on more occasions than we would like to admit and not a month goes by without a black and white checked parcel being left with our increasingly grumpy neighbours.

Now, I thought we were all aware where the name ASOS came from, admittedly some of you won't be as ancient as me, but as a general rule I thought this was a common known fact.

Lesson number one children....never assume.

Because as I learnt yesterday, there is an entire group of people who have no idea why ASOS is called ASOS and I'll be honest with you, my tiny mind can't handle that fact.

Oh Jessica, Jessica, Jessica.

Apparently not Clemmie...

Tbh Irena, the fact people didn't know this, is what's blowing my mind

A bit OTT no?

So, for those of you in the back who weren't listening, ASOS stands for As Seen On Screen.

That's because when ASOS first launched in 2000, it was a celebrity-linked clothing website. If you wanted to find that revealing dress Nadine from Girls Aloud was wearing to the British Soap Awards, or those incredibly low rise jeans Britney Spears was spotted in at her local Target, all you had to do was search it on As Seen On Screen.

It wasn't until 2003 that As Seen On Screen changed their name to ASOS and ditched the celebrity angle.

And there you have it, class dismissed.
