The salon is generally not very busy these days. The hairdressers work parttime mostly, leave early if no clients & never return messages. Don’t count on a real, live person to answer phone. Walk ins are not advised. It might be closed if you drop by. I do love the services I get at J.C.Penny. My favorite lady cuts my long hair perfectly. Prices are fair & you can use their store coupons/sales. It’s very casual so if you don’t like alot of talk & opinions between the customers and stylists being shared then skip it. Summed up: If you can actually get an appt. that is convenient then great. They do nice work so no worries there ..

I usually purchase my hair products from this location. In November I purchased a can of Guts from Redken. Yesterday, I ran out of Guts and tried a different product from Redken that I purchased in November. When I went to use it this morning, the top snapped in half. I took it back tonight and was denied a refund or exchange. They still didn’t have the Guts that I was hoping to exchange this product for, still Redken. Because I didn’t have the receipt the manager took my credit card and was able to see that I made the purchase in November. Since it was over 60 days, no offer of exchange or refund, even though she specifically acknowledged the purchase. She said the “computer” wouldn’t allow her to make a change or refund. I said you’re a human and you can’t override the computer and she said no. Then Dawn, one of the employees started talking over the manager, I said one person only needs to be speaking. Very rude. Left the purchase when them, evidently JC Penny Salon needs it more than I do. I won’t be going back.

Stood here at 1:45 on a Monday for a few minutes. Heard voices but no one came out to even check for customers. Also didn’t sound like anyone was getting a haircut done at the time. We were not quiet with talking and whatnot. Guess we’ll take our haircut business somewhere else. Thought we might help y’all out and get a haircut. Oh and the reason we initially came in? Spotted a walk-in appointments welcome at the front of the JCpenny. Either get a bell or keep a better eye on your front counter or we won’t be the only ones walking.

Showed sherry the haircutter a pic of how I wanted my hair…roughly 150.00 plus tip..3 tones to go in my hair,never told me that silver was a hard color for hair to take..after 2 1/2 hrs the ending result..all around top of head you could/can see old color,and no silver in it what so ever.talked to mgr and they wanted to fix ..you can’t add color to already colored hair that was done that day,your hair will burn…I told them I’m not paying,and I walked out wet head and all..very last time I go there!!! First pic is what my hair was suppose to look like .very disgusted and I wouldn’t recommend!!

Critical:Professionalism,Quality,ValueOK just DON’T DO it!!! I set an appt. for a Sunday afternoon for 3 pm to get my hair colored. I have only used a salon for color a handful of times in my life and on this day I just wanted to not do color myself and not have the mess and treat myself. Also I wanted it a golden yellow blonde and that is what I said from minute one. I walked in with a dirty blonde color (not dark in any way). They showed me swatches and I picked from those what I wanted my hair look like or resemble. OK so I am sitting in salon chair for a very long time while my stylist went somewhere not sure where. I did not know what was going on at all-was just left sitting there. It might have been half hour if I did not get up and walk back to where she had gone. No checking back with me–do you want a water? – magazine?? NOTHING. I go back to find several people discussing what to use on MY hair because they were “out of stock” of the color I wanted. Nothing that I wanted originally of like 3 colors was available in stock. How can this be? In the end I chose a color that most closely matched because I needed color done and do not have many days to do this and work a LOT.After color was done I looked like an old lady with my hair a murky, gray, ash blonde of some sort and I had been here for a solid 3 hrs. It was 6 pm and store closing. Absolutely not what I wanted. I was very dissatisfied and they absolutely knew it-even the stylist admitted it was bad. They basically blamed this on me for not waiting for the other colors to come in and their only fix was that I set another appt day when they would have colors in. But their plan was to charge me the SAME price to get my hair done again…!!! No substantial discount to make a customer “happy”? because making a customer happy is what they are supposed to be doing? If someone walks out of a hair experience unhappy–well, guess what?–not good for business right?. I did foolishly set another time for a week later and soon decided no way I am going back to trust these people with my hair again. I did not go. They then proceeded to dial my cell phone over and over until an entire hour had gone by past the appt-telling me the color I wanted was now in–because “they had sent someone out for it just for me”–are you kidding me? They never did a reminder call because if they had, I would have told them I was not coming back. At any point there was no offer to make this right at a deeply discounted price or gratis. So I went down to Ollie’s bought a box of color for $2 Copper Sandy Blonde which added the warmth my hair needed–and done!! Extremely unprofessional group here who really don’t care if you leave happy (sorry true) and the manager is also very rude. We recently went to get our daughters hair trimmed here while we were all in the mall. Just a quick cheap trim to cut back her bangs and went ahead and got a full trim. My fiance gets back home and starts to notice things like missing a chunk of bangs and an actual chunk missing from the back of her hair. We understand mistakes happen, but my fiance is picky and wants to go get it fixed somewhere else, mostly to avoid conflict and awkwardness. She decides to get up some courage and call jcpenney and ask for a refund for her hair. We took pictures and just wanted a refund for the mistake and that’s it. The lady who cut her hair was very nice but when we talked to the manager today she was not the same. She was short with my fiance. Told her they dont do refunds and that since she fixed it already there was nothing they could do. We understand there may be a policy for no refunds. We can live with that. But she was quite rude on the phone, and she seemed to just have an attitude with my already anxious fiance. We will never come back here and we will tell this story to others. The mistake wasnt the issue, it was the costomer service by the manager for this response.

We bought an aquamarine and white gold bracelet from the fine jewelry department. Today I am taking it back, as it has broken for the 6th time. They continue to send it in for repair and within a couple months it breaks. I have asked for a replacement but they won’t replace it.
