Kerry Businesses Face Penalties: Nearly €1 Million Owed to Revenue (2026)

Four Kerry-based entities have been required to pay nearly €1 million (€964,363) to the Revenue Commissioners in the latest defaulters list.

They appear in Revenue’s most recent List of Tax Defaulters, published this afternoon, which covers the period from 1 July to 30 September 2025.

Helena Moore, a company director and PAYE employee residing at Brentfield, Island Road, Fenit, was found to have under-declared Income Tax following an Revenue audit. Her total settlement exceeds €683,000 (€683,369), comprising more than €168,000 (€168,352) in interest and about €119,000 (€118,849) in penalties.

Dingle Transport Limited, a freight transport service provider located at Unit 3, Trabeg Business Park, Dingle, underwent a Level 2 audit, typically used for more complex tax matters. Revenue identified an under-declaration of payroll taxes, including PAYE, PRSI, and USC. The settlement total surpassed €166,000 (€166,398), with roughly €27,000 (€26,962) in interest and around €60,000 (€59,758) in penalties.

F. Rowland Blennerhassett, a company director and landlord living at Sea Meadow, Cappanacush East, Templenoe, Kenmare, was found to have under-declared Capital Gains Tax (CGT) after Revenue conducted an audit. The total due is nearly €115,000 (€114,596), all of which remained unpaid as of 30 September 2025, including about €33,000 (€32,576) in interest and over €23,000 (€23,434) in penalties.

LAM Catering Limited, trading as Vendrick’s Restaurant at 3–4 The Courtyard, Fairhill, Killarney, was found guilty of operating without a valid liquor licence. A court fine of €850 was issued.

These cases illustrate ongoing compliance gaps across sectors in the region, spanning individual income tax, payroll taxes, capital gains, and licensing requirements. The Revenue Commissioners continue to pursue penalties, interest, and settlements as part of routine enforcement.

Would you like a brief summary of what each tax category entails (Income Tax, PAYE, PRSI, USC, CGT) and why audits trigger these kinds of repayments? And should this rewrite include a quick explainer on Level 2 audits and their significance for businesses?
