Leonard and its Creative Director Georg Lux are parting ways after nearly five years, the French label announced on Monday.
The brand said it would soon reveal the contours of a new artistic direction. Lux’s final collection for Leonard will be the pre-fall 2026 line, and there will be no show during the upcoming Paris Fashion Week for fall 2026. Leonard plans to return with a spring 2027 runway in October.
Yuichi Nishi, president of Leonard Paris, praised Lux for capturing the brand’s spirit with creative boldness. He noted Lux’s artistic sensitivity and deep understanding as yielding collections of notable elegance.
Lux himself said that working with Leonard has been an exceptional experience, describing it as an opportunity to draw from the brand’s heritage, engage with its legacy, and contribute his own artistic vision.
Lux, a Paris-based German designer, took over the role in January 2021, succeeding French designer Christine Phung. He remained at the helm through Leonard’s 2022 acquisition by Sankyo Seiko, a long-time partner of the brand, after the Tribouillard family originally owned it.
During his tenure, Lux revitalized Leonard’s runway presence, mixing the label’s archival prints with influences from distant locales and retro aesthetics. The spring 2026 collection paid homage to California, featuring pastel tones, bright motifs, and vintage silhouettes reminiscent of the 1970s.
At this time, Lux’s next move has not been announced.
