Record a Meeting
Organizers and co-organizers can record the meeting and make it available for anyone to view at a later time. When a meeting is recorded, the presenter's screen, audio conference, and any shared applications are included.
Notice: This article addresses the new GoTo app experience. View How do I record a meeting? (Classic) for the classic experience.
We recommend having two organizers in the meeting in case one encounters issues that may potentially disrupt the recording. If a co-organizer records to the cloud, it'll be available in the Past tab of the scheduling organizer's account. If a co-organizer records locally, it'll be available on their computer afterwards for them (as a .WEBM file) to convert and send to the scheduling organizer.
Note: If you are recording locally to your computer, you must be on the GoTo desktop app.
Desktop app or web
The maximum length for a recording is 8 hours (or 2 hours with no attendees) or 20GB in size.
- Start or join a meeting.
- Optional: Make sure you're sharing your screen if you want it included in the recording.
- Select Record.
Note: If you are recording locally, make sure you have at least 5GB of free space in the desired local folder.
Result: The Record icon glows, and attendees see a notification that the meeting is being recorded.
- Optional: To take notes during the meeting, hover over Record and then select Take notes.
- Optional: To pause or stop your recording, select Record again. Alternatively, you can end the session.
Note: Pausing and resuming will not break up the recording into multiple files.
What to do next: Once the session is over, you're taken to GoTo where you can access the recording (it may take a few minutes for the recording to appear). If you recorded locally recording, open the folder you chose to save recordings to.
Important: All local recordings are saved as a WEBM files. Please use a third-party service to convert your WEBM files as needed.
