The Alabama Board of Nursing issues single and multi-state licenses as part of the NLC. Nurses can apply for licensure by examination or endorsem*nt online.

The requirements for all nursing licenses include providing your social security number, identifying information, and an official transcript. Applicants must also answer questions about citizenship, criminal history, substance use, and disciplinary actions.

The first California RN license is issued for two birthdays, which may not equal two years. It expires on the last day of the birthday month. Afterward, it renews every two years and can be renewed online in the BreEZe system.

The Colorado State Board of Nursing is managed by the Department of Regulatory Agencies in Colorado. Nurses apply online for licensure by examination and endorsem*nt. Nurses receive an email renewal notice months before the expiration date explaining how to access the renewal process in DELPROS. Licenses expire in February, May, or September of odd years, depending on when they were originally issued.

RN licenses must be renewed in odd-numbered years between May 1 and August 31. All applications must be submitted through the state’s online Nurse Portal. The license automatically becomes inactive if it is not renewed by August 31. Applicants for licensure by examination must have a passing NCLEX score. Nurses seeking licensure by endorsem*nt must supply an official verification of the original nursing license by examination. Applications are valid for one year from the date the board receives them.

The New Hampshire Board of Nursing requires license renewal for RNs every two years. RNs receive a registration code in the email 60 days before their license expires. RN licenses are renewed online and must include 30 CE hours within the past two years or have completed the NCLEX exam within the past two years. The New Jersey Board of Nursing has combined the applications for licensure by examination and by endorsem*nt. The new candidate application is for nurses who’ve never been licensed or licensed in another state. Those who meet the multi-state compact license requirements will be issued a multi-state license, but a single-state license is issued for those who don’t meet the requirements for a compact license.

The application is available online and a re-examination application for those who do not pass the NCLEX is available in paper format.
