Canadian high school students

British Columbia and Yukon

If you applied directly from high school, you’ll need to authorize UBC to receive your grades from the BC Ministry of Education. To do so, you must create a BCeID account, and then follow the instructions at the student transcripts website.

When you order your transcript, select the option to “send my transcript now and allow this post-secondary institution to request transcript updates.” Choose the default date (one year from the date of your order) so that UBC receives your grades throughout the year.

Do not send a paper copy of your transcript or report card.

If you entered the BC or Yukon school system after Grade 9, you are currently attending high school, and you applied to UBC’s Vancouver campus, your counsellor or principal must submit a language 11 waiver request on your behalf. The request should be sent to language11.waiver@ubc.ca and must include: your UBC student number, and the date you entered the BC or Yukon school system.

March to AprilUBC will request and receive your grades and courses in progress directly from the BC Ministry of Education, including distributed learning course information submitted to the Ministry.

Please do not send paper copies of transcripts or report cards.

June 30Deadline to complete all coursework to meet UBC’s admissions requirements, including all distributed learning courses.
July 31UBC will receive your final grades from the BC Ministry of Education, including your final grades for all distributed learning courses. Please ensure your distributed learning provider submits your final grades to the Ministry of Education in time for UBC to access these on July 31.

Ontario

If you applied directly from high school, UBC will receive your grades electronically as long as you provided your Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) reference number when you completed the online application to UBC.

March 15Deadline for UBC to receive your grades through OUAC for your UBC academic assessment.
June 30Deadline to complete all coursework to meet UBC’s admissions requirements, including all distributed learning courses.

Other Canadian provinces and territories

If you applied directly from high school, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to upload copies of your transcript of grades and/or report card to theApplicant Service Centre. Your documents must be in PDF, TIFF, or JPG format, and must not exceed 2 MB.

If you have completed two years of CEGEP, please refer to the document submission instructions for post-secondary institutions in Canada.

March 1 – March 15Upload your interim transcript of grades and/or report card, including interim (at least 50% complete) grades for distributed learning courses, to the Applicant Service Centre for your UBC academic assessment.

July 31Deadline to submit your final transcripts (electronic copies preferred).

Students who graduated from a Canadian high school before applying to UBC

If you applied to UBC after you graduated from a high school in Canada, you will receive instructions on how to submit your government-issued high school transcript electronically or via the Applicant Service Centre.

International high school students

You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to upload your transcripts and documents. Please check the Applicant Service Centre to find out what documents are required to be submitted.

UBC encourages the submission of transcripts and documents electronically wherever possible. If this option is available to you, talk to your school counsellor about sending UBC your documents through a third-party provider.

If you attended or are currently attending a Canadian high school outside of Canada, please refer to the document submission instructions for Canadian high school students.

American curricula

Deadline to submit final transcripts if you graduated from high school before applying to UBC.

Deadline to submit documents showing you meet the SAT/ACT requirement. The submission of standardized test scores will be optional for 2024 applicants. Applicants who have a SAT or ACT test score and would like them to be considered as part of the UBC admissions process are welcome to submit their test score. Applicants will not be at a disadvantage if they cannot or choose not to submit a test score.

British-patterned education

Canadian university or college transfer students

Please check the Applicant Service Centre for details on what documents you need to submit to UBC and how to submit them.

UBC will ask for your transcript in one of the following ways:

  • We may ask that you request for your electronic transcript to be sent directly to UBC from your participating BC institution(s): Capilano University, Douglas College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Langara College, and University of the Fraser Valley.
  • We may ask you to upload your documents to the Applicant Service Centre.All transcripts must include your institution name and your full name.
  • We may ask that you request for your university, college, or CEGEP to email a PDF copy of your transcript directly to UBC at final.grades@ubc.ca.
    • If your institution cannot provide an emailed PDF copy or an electronic transcript, you must request for your university, college, or CEGEP to mail a paper copy directly to UBC.
January 31Deadline to submit interim transcripts if you are currently attending university or college, and you applied to UBC by December 1.
January 31Deadline to submit final transcripts if you completed university or college before applying to UBC.

Exceptions:

  • If you applied to Midwifery or Nursing on UBC’s Vancouver campus, please see your offer letter for your deadline.

International university or college transfer students

Official transcripts must be sent directly from your university or college to UBC.

Please check the Applicant Service Centre for details on what documents you need to submit.

  • You may be asked to upload documents directly to your Applicant Service Centre account. For instructions, check the email you received after submitting your application, titled “Your UBC Application – Next Steps”.
  • Documents can also be submitted by having your university or college email a copy directly to UBC at final.grades@ubc.ca.Documents submitted through a third-party provider, such as Clearinghouse, are also accepted.

Transcript images should:

  • Be issued in the original language of instruction.
  • Prominently display the school’s logo, stamp, or seal.
  • Include the front and back of your transcript.

United States

July 31Deadline to submit your Advanced Placement (AP) exam results. Contact the College Board and request that your results be sent directly to UBC (institution code 0965). Please do not mail your personal copy of your AP exam results sheet.

International Baccalaureate students

Canadian high schools

February 15Deadline for UBC to receive your IB diploma anticipated score results. The Undergraduate Admissions Office will contact your IB coordinator directly for your grades information.
July 31Deadline to submit your final transcripts. Contact the IBO and have your official results submitted to UBC electronically (UBC’s institution code is 000087). Please do not mail your personal copy of your IB diploma.

International high schools

March 15Deadline to submit your anticipated IB scores and interim school transcripts if you are currently attending high school. Please have your IB coordinator complete the Anticipated IB grades for UBC form below, and then follow the instructions on the Applicant Service Centre to submit this document and your interim transcripts via document upload.


We are aware that in some jurisdictions, schools do not release anticipated IB scores to students. If your school follows this pattern and does not share anticipated IB scores with students, please have your counsellor or IB Coordinator send these directly to UBC.
