Digital teaching is very different from regular classes of the mast. The current practice saves time in displaying or giving visual examples from far areas, students learn better when all domains of learning move together. This also demands that teachers should have sound know-how of technological aspects. he should be able to work independently and manage digital resources efficiently.

An example I’ve seen and used myself is ensuring that learning modules are varied and impactful. Finding different ways to engage learners is possibly more critical in a digital environment than a physical one since you lack the in-person connection. Part of your job really becomes helping students figure out how to be strong independent learners as they don’t have you present in the same way to troubleshoot misunderstandings together.

Digital teaching demands better collaboration and feedback mechanisms. Thus teachers should use tools like Quizing or Kahoot for instant feedback. Local examples are more effective as students connect well with the system.

Teachers need to have the motivation and opportunity to engage in continuous professional development to enhance their role in digital learning. They also need to be able to share their experiences, insights, and challenges with their peers and mentors, and to learn from their best practices and innovations.

Digital learning is not a replacement for the teacher, but rather a way to extend and enrich the teacher's role. By developing their pedagogical, technological, facilitation, evaluation, and professional development skills, teachers can play a vital role in creating digital learning experiences that are relevant, engaging, and impactful for their students.

I view digital learning not as a substitute for traditional teaching methods but as a complement that enriches the teacher's role. By honing their pedagogical and technological skills, teachers can create more relevant, engaging, and impactful learning experiences for their students. It's about leveraging digital tools to augment the teaching process, thereby enhancing the overall educational journey. In my role, encouraging and facilitating these opportunities for professional growth is a priority, ensuring that our educators are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of today's learners.

We have likely all been students in a classroom, but we have not all been digital students. One of the most effective ways to learn how to teach in a digital environment is by learning in a digital environment. Without that hands-on experience, it can be really difficult to understand the shortcomings of a digital environment and how to navigate them as an educator. Enrolling in online classes or PD is incredibly valuable to learning that space. It provides insights into how some platforms work, strategies other professionals are using to teach digitally, and provides perspective as a digital learner.
