Individuals who smoke generally have a lower body mass index (BMI) than nonsmokers. The relative roles of energy expenditure and energy intake in maintaining the lower BMI, however, remain controversial. We tested the hypothesis that current smokers have higher total energy expenditure than never smokers in 308 adults aged 40-69 years old of which 47 were current smokers. Energy expenditure was measured by doubly labeled water during a two week period in which the subjects lived at home and performed their normal activities. Smoking status was determined by questionnaire. There were no significant differences in mean BMI (mean ± SD) between smokers and never smokers for either males (27.8+5.1 kg/m2 vs. 27.5+4.0 kg/m2) or females (26.5+5.3 kg/m2 vs. 28.1+6.6 kg/m2), although the difference in females was of similar magnitude to previous reports. The purpose of this research is set out to investigate and discuss the influence of characteristics and corporate governance on social responsibility disclosures in Indonesian companies. Variables of the characteristics and corporate governance used in this research include government ownership, board of directors size, independent directors, company size, company age, liquidity, leverage and type of industry towards corporate social responsibility disclosure. The total sample which met the criteria consists of 443 companies that have been listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from the 2013-2017 period. Where is determined by purposive sampling method. After the defeat of the World War II, Japanese people tried to rebuild their society by relying on humanistic and democratic values. It was the renewal of education system that constituted one of the key aspects of the reform. Teachers and scholars gathered together to find, a way to construct an autonomous realm of education with the aim to get rid of militaristic and ultra-nationalistic ideology which was precisely the fundamental principle of education during the imperial period of Japan. Objective: Overall objective of the study was to see effects of active management of third stage of labour (AMSTL) with oxytocin. Specific objective of the study was to look for incidence of Post-Partum Haemorrhage (PPH), length of 3rd stage, incidence of retained placenta and average blood loss. Methodology: A hospital based prospective, descriptive, observational study was carried out from 1st July 2005 to 30th June 2006 at department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital (KMCTH). All patients undergoing vagin*l delivery excluding twins, polyhydraminios and instrumental deliveries were included in the study. The active management of 3rd stage included administration of 10 units IU of oxytocin, early cord clamping, controlled cord traction and uterine massage. Blood loss was estimated by visual inspection and measured by jar pressed against perineum. Result: Total number of deliveries during the study period was 530. There were 13 cases of PPH. ...
