Personal Application
1. Confirm Settlement with Employer
Before you sign any statement of a confirmed settlement, make sure that you’ve received all your dues and make sure to know the exact amount that your employer owes you.
Your payment should include gratuity, repatriations expenses or airfare, and other agreed-upon terms between you and your employer as per your contract.
2. Submit Required Documents

Then, visit a typing office. Carry documents such as copies of your sponsor’s passport and his/her visa page copy, your original passport, and your Emirates ID and your MOHRE clearance statement. Cancelling your UAE visa will approximately AED 110.
You and your sponsor will have to sign the application and then have it stamped.
3. Visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA)
You can visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) after signing the cancellation application.
Here are documents you need to bring:
- A copy of your sponsor’s passport and visa page
- Original passport
- Emirates ID card
You must surrender your old Emirates ID and your passport. After having it stamped, they will return it to you. This will mark the start of the 30 days period in which you will have to exit the UAE.
If you’re in the midst of changing jobs, you need to submit your cancellation paper and passport to your new employer to get an employment visa stamped in your passport. 2 weeks is usually how long the process takes.

It is located on Saada Street. From the Corniche, take Shaikh Zayed Street southbound following signs to Dubai. Go through the Shaikh Zayed Tunnel. After the tunnel, prepare to move into the right-hand lane, turn right onto Saada Street at the two pine cone buildings. Continue straight over the two crossroads. The GDRFA is on your right.

From Trade Centre Roundabout, take the D88 exit onto Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road. At the crossroad with Shaikh Rashid Road, make a U-Turn and head back down Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road. Take the second exit onto 36th Street. Parking will be on your right.

1. What are the documents I require in order to cancel my family’s visa in Dubai?
- Original Passport of Sponsored and Sponsor
