IIM Shortlist 2024: Results, Calls, Interview Dates, Cut Off, Selection Process (2024)

IIM Shortlist 2024 has been released by IIMs for the academic batch of 2024-26 for PGP courses. IIM CAP PI process concludes on March 2, 2024. The final IIM shortlist will probably be released in May 2024. The highest IIM shortlisting cutoff percentile for major IIMs is 94 and the minimum is 80. The minimum baby IIM shortlisting cutoff percentile falls between 82 to 94. IIM Shortlist 2024-26

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow is the first IIM to release the shortlist of 8847 candidates for WAT-PI 2024 on January 4. What is IIM Shortlist?

The IIM shortlist 2024 is the list of candidates who are eligible to participate in the WAT-PI rounds of IIMs also CAT interview dates are mentioned in the shortlist. As per the official notification, IIM CAP 2024 Personal Interviews will be conducted soon.

The IIM shortlist is basically the list of CAT test-takers who make it to the second phase of the IIM admission process 2024-26 which is the Personal Interview (PI). IIMs are the most sought-after MBA institutes in India. There are a total of 21 IIMs in the country.

Given below is the release date of the IIM shortlists for the PI round. Meanwhile, IIM Kozhikode. IIM Lucknow shortlist 2024, IIM Calcutta 2024 shortlist, IIM Bangalore shortlist 2024, and IIM Ahmedabad shortlist 2024 are set to release for stage 1 soon.

IIM Waitlist Movement 2024-26

The final IIM shortlist 2024 is released consisting of names of candidates who qualify all the rounds of IIM selection process. In case any candidate opts not to enroll for admission then their seat is offered to the waitlisted candidate. This results in IIM waitlist movement.

• If any candidate lets go of his or her seat then the student from the waiting listing can get admission.
• The seat is offered based on the candidate's merit and availability of the seat.
• Over the past years, students have waited a long time for the waitlist of IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta to move to get close to admission chances.
• There remains a high waitlist movement in IIM Calcutta and IIM Lucknow because selected candidates prefer IIMA or IIMB over these two.

IIM Shortlist 2024: Key Highlights

After candidates have downloaded their CAT results, all the IIMs will release the shortlists for the final round of PI & WAT separately. After the conclusion of the personal interview and other rounds which will be conducted virtually, the respective IIMs prepare the final merit list based on these scores, work experience, CAT percentile, and diversity factors. These are the key highlights of the IIM shortlisting process:

• All IIMs will drop their GD and WAT rounds & like last year will be conducting only PI rounds from February 12 to March 2, 2024.
• IIM Kashipur started the IIM CAP registration in online mode. Eligible candidates could register for IIM CAP till January 31.
• Out of the four CAP 2024 participating baby IIMs - IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Sambalpur, and IIM Sirmaur, the two –IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu have announced different shortlisting criteria for CAP and for their own selection round last year.
• Previous year, IIM Shillong, IIM Rohtak, IIM Amritsar, IIM Nagpur, and IIM Visakhapatnam are not participating in IIM CAP 2023 and hence will be conducting their own admission process probably.

IIM Shortlisting Criteria and Selection Process 2024

IIM shortlisting process is divided into three stages:

Stage 1: Shortlisting of candidates based on their CAT 2023 score

With the CAT result announcement, the candidates will be invited to apply for the PI round by each IIM on its official website. Candidates who meet the IIM shortlist cut-off have to log in through their CAT IDs to submit their name and CAT score.

Stage 2: Screening of candidates for Personal Interview

In the second stage, the candidates who applied for PI will be shortlisted based on their CAT score and academic record after which interview letters are sent to selected candidates in the IIM shortlist 2024.

Stage 3: Calculation of CAT Composite Score and Final Selection in IIM

In the third stage, the composite score of each candidate on the IIM shortlist is calculated based on various parameters to finalize his/her selection. The final selection process of admission in IIMs and preparation of final IIM shortlist includes assessing a candidate on certain parameters and calculating his/her composite score. IIM CAP 2024

Common Admission Process (CAP) is a single window selection process for MBA admission to the participating CAP IIMs. For the academic batch of 2024-25, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur will conduct IIM CAP process.
