  1. S/4HANA can run either on the cloud or on premise
  2. S/4HANA can only run on a HANA Database, while ECC can run on multiple databases (Oracle, DB2, etc.)
  3. SAP FIORI Apps are available in S/4HANA for performing activities and generating reports in real time
  4. In S/4HANA there are no summary tables, index tables or history tables – instead, line item tables are used
  5. HANA database tables are column-based in S/4HANA, resulting in speed from fewer distinct values and parallel processing
  6. S/4HANA employs a single line item table ACDOCA-Universal Journal, combining GL, AP, AR, FI, AA, CO & ML tables
  7. Inventory management is reduced from 26 tables to a single table, MATDOC (Material Document line item)
  8. Material Ledger is mandatory and helps for valuation in two additional currencies in S/4HANA
  9. In S/4HANA, a parallel ledger is a prerequisite for new asset accounting
  10. Cost Elements are merged as GL accounts in S/4HANA, resulting in no need for reconciliation from CO to FI
  11. In S/4HANA, customer and vendor are integrated as a “Business Partner”
  12. Material numbers have been increased to 40 characters in S/4HANA
  13. In S/4HANA pricing table “KONV” is replaced by a new table “PRCD_ELEMENTS”
  14. S/4HANA includes migration co*ckpit
