In general, Tucson offers an excellent living environment, particularly for college students. With the University of Arizona situated at its heart, there is a plethora of activities ranging from campus events, sports games, to vibrant nightlife. However, a notable concern revolves around the city's safety. Instances of gunshots are not uncommon in the neighborhoods surrounding the campus, and there have been reports of on-campus shootings. Additionally, there have been several incidents of attempted abductions targeting students, particularly women. Hence, it is advised to avoid walking alone at any time of the day, even during daylight hours, as precautionary measures are necessary to ensure personal safety. Improved safety conditions in Tucson would significantly enhance my willingness to recommend it as a desirable place to live and explore. Despite its current safety concerns, Tucson undeniably offers an enjoyable living experience worth sharing with others.

Tucson is kind of like the place you come to, to get your life together. You stay until you can leave. There really isn't much to do during the week & the food is so overrated. The "diverse" foods are always terrible. The only good thing you can find is Sonoran Hot Dogs. The views in the Sonoran Desert are very beautiful & monsoons are cool. But people are terrible drivers!

Being a Tucson native, the older I have gotten the more appreciation I have acquired for my home town. The saguaro desert never fails to amaze me with its beauty, even though “beautiful” might not be the first thing that comes to most people’s mind when they think of a desert. In Tucson there’s such a variety of things to do, from museums to hiking to local events, there is something for everyone!
