Updated Hilton requirements for 2023.
A status match is when a new hotel immediately offers reciprocal status based on the elite status of the hotel you currently hold. And with Hilton, you can easily earn Diamond status in a short period of stays once your status match is approved!
After your status match is approved, you will receive Gold trial status for 90 days. You must then stay for that period.
- 8 nights to get Gold
- 14 nights to get Diamond
If you meet the requirements of the Status Challenge, you may retain the status you have earned until March 31, 2025
ATTENTION: If you are a US resident, this is not for you. Applying for a Hilton Aspire credit card and paying $450 per year will get you a Diamond membership easier.

My previous stay at the Hilton Maldives was on points, but thanks to my Diamond status, I received a complimentary breakfast and evening co*cktails.
I think we probably saved more than $200 on this, as food and beverage is expensive at Maldives resorts!
Hilton Status Match
These are status match hotel accepted by Hilton.

Previously accepted Accor Hotel, Radisson Rewards and Wyndham Rewards as status match, but removed from 2022.
You need to send a copy of your hotel elite membership card (screenshot acceptable) and proof of hotel recent stay.
Once you have uploaded your information, you should reply from Hilton within a week. Gold status is valid for 90 days and the expiration date is listed in the email. Then you will need to stay 8 or 14 nights to maintain your Gold status or upgrade to Diamond.

Status Match from IHG One Rewards is the easiest way
Elite membership in a hotel group is difficult to qualify for unless you travel a lot for business.
I guess many of you do not have the elite membership to be able to status match Hilton Honors. However, there is a way to quickly become an elite member and easily qualify for status match to Hilton Gold Member.
Become an InterContinental Ambassador
IHG hotels have a paid membership program called InterContinental Ambassador. By paying an annual membership fee of US$200, you can enjoy benefits similar to those of an elite member.

When you join InterContinental Ambassador, one of the benefits is IHG Platinum status, from which you can status match to Hilton Honors.
Bottom line
The quickest and easiest way would be to apply for the Hilton Status Match from an IHG Platinum member. Then, if you prove a minimum of one night stay at an IHG hotel group and stay 14 nights within 90 days at a Hilton, you will receive Diamond status until March 31, 2025.
In Malaysia, inexpensive Hilton group hotels start at around 30USD (RM130) per night, so the total cost may be around 600USD (RM2,650) to achieve Hilton Diamond status. And with IHG ambassador.
